Wellbeing Goals to Pace Myself
Today is Wellbeing Wednesday! The blog series where I share my plans for my wellbeing for the month ahead. I hope to inspire you to be equally intentional about your wellbeing and realise that self-care isn’t selfish. In fact, it is essential for a happy and harmonious life. Self-care is anything that inspires you and makes you happy. It boosts your mood and equips you deal with what life may through your way.

Staying curious and engaged in learning new things. Read for learning, read for pleasure. Self-awareness and self-reflection.
I’ve notice I’ve been enrolling on a number of challenges or courses. This is great for expanding and challenging the mind but I need to careful I don’t take on too much; without keeping track of it all, this would be easily done. So I’m going to set up a Trello board for self-development to monitor and track my learning.
There are lots of books that I am looking forward to reading, more on this soon…
Eat healthy well-balanced meals, drinking plenty of water, exercise, get enough sleep and avoiding harmful habits
Last month I had two goals under this category
- Drinking 3 litres of water a day
- To exercise three times a week.
These goals needed to be set up in a way that they could be worked on wherever I was, as I had the week away and then a long weekend too. I am pleased to say that with the planning I was able to meet these easy!
- I invested in this gorgeous water bottle, which keep your drink cold for up to 24 hours. Ideal for this warm weather we’ve been having.
- In order to exercise three times a week, with no excuses, I needed to decide on the days and times in advance. This way it was a non-negotiable-I just needed to get it done. On holiday, I got up early and used the hotel gym-I’m very proud of myself!
In July I have a new challenge, which is being run in A Big Girls Journey to Lean Facebook group;
To collectively walk/run the 7723 miles of the British Coastline in July. The best bit is we’ll be raising money for Alzheimer’s Disease. This is a fantastic cause and one I am pleased to raise money for. I don’t see anything wrong with changing your activity and/or routine. If you get stuck doing the same thing you have always done you are not going to get much out of it. It is important that exercise is fun and keeps challenging you.
The ability to understand the beliefs and values that guide your life. Having a sense that life is meaningful and has a purpose.
Meditation can be so powerful, and I do have a meditation practice, however I haven’t always been that consistent with it. So last month I set myself the goal to meditate every day to then obtain my 30-day streak on Headspace. I am pleased to say my current run streak is 26 days so all going well to get that badge! It is important I don’t get overwhelmed and I keep my goals realistic. (so won’t be setting any more)
Taking care of your global environment and your physical surroundings. De-cluttering a room, recycling rubbish and selling or donating items that no longer serve you, can all help your health.
Last month I set myself the goal to de-clutter and sort my pictures. I have noticed that since becoming a blogger I have a lot more pictures on both my phone and my laptop. I did work on this, but there is lots more to do. So I am going to keep this as my Environmental wellbeing goal for July. When the pictures are more sorted, I will schedule a weekly task to maintain this.
