Retrain Brain and Simply-Shine - December Month of Self-Care

This post was updated on 24/03/18

It seems to be the culture these days, that everyone is more and more busy. Diaries have to be full, who can get their Christmas decorations up first and elaborate plans to celebrate. Let’s stop the glorification of busy. Let’s slow down and enjoy the hear and now. This will mean and healthier and happier way of living, especially at this already busy time of year. We are so busy, running around with hectic social calendars, getting the house and family ready for Christmas, we need to remember to look after ourselves first.

Retrain Brain and Simply-Shine - October 2017 Well-Being Review

This post was updated on 24/03/18

My well-being post is a little different this month, because of how things have worked recently. Usually I sit down towards the end of the month and review my progress against a few goals and set my intentions for the month ahead. Over the last few weeks I have been doing an awful lot of self-reflection and thinking of new ideas to try. In other words, thinking about my well-being; the importance of rest but also self-development, has been ongoing.  So for that reason, this week I thought it was worth sitting down and capturing what’s new. Let’s see how this goes!

Retrain Brain and Simply-Shine - September 2017 Well-Being Review

I love this point in the month when I plan for the month ahead. I value self-care more and more. People who spend their time only taking care of others and neglecting themselves are in danger of deeper levels of unhappiness, low self-esteem, and feelings of resentment. Taking time to care for yourself regularly can make you a better caretaker for others. Not only that but, taking a break from the outside world ensures you relax and allows you to get back to life feeling refreshed. You are then more able to handle life’s stress when we are feeling at our best, physically, mentally and emotionally.
