How I Plan and Reflect on my Self-Development, so I can Shine Bright

Self-development is taking steps to better yourself, such as by learning new skills, overcoming bad habits and this includes retraining your brain!

It is an opportunity to reflect on your life and focus on what makes you happy, what you want to achieve and how you can get there.  I’ve been doing a lot of self-development recently. It has always been something that I’ve enjoy doing, I just love learning. I am lucky enough to be able to dedicate more time to it now.

Monday 29th April 2013- That’s a date that will remain in my memory for a long time.

The day of my neurologist appointment. First of all, as strange as this might sound, I was lucky to get this far so quickly. There are so many people who have weird and wonderful symptoms as I called them, that push to see a specialist but get no where. I know what it is like to have a GP who doesn’t understand. Who has no answer for the symptoms and so makes suggestions only for them not to work. From January to March 2013 I went back and forth to the GP. For other people reading this who have been through something similar, I know that 3 months is a relatively short length of time and for that I am very lucky.

Today is my Wellbeing Wednesday! The first Wednesday of the month where I share my plans for my wellbeing for the month ahead. I’ve recently set up a new format for this, you can read more about this here.

Well before I delve into the categories I should mention that I have set a challenge for March. #3forMe March Self-Care Challenge is about carrying out 3 self-care activities every day.  It is too easy to get caught up in the day to day and not spend time looking after your mind, body and soul. This challenge keeps me accountable to do just that.

I am so excited that a number of people are also taking part in both Shine in Self-Care Facebook group and Instagram. I am on a mission to get as many people taking care of themselves more. If you would like to get involved, click on either link above.
